A sea awash with florals, lace, chiffon, and ruffles epitomised Valentino's S/S 2012 collection.
With inspiration drawn from images of Graciela Iturbide and Georgia O’Keeffe, and a Mexican “state of mind”, gowns and dresses were dreamy and romantic. Cotton lace frocks varied from off-white to black, lovely appliqués on organza, fine Chantilly lace, and floral sprays.
The silhouettes were feminine, with modest, flattering lines, high necklines and higher waistlines, above-the-ankle hems, and softly puffed sleeves.
