Putting the fabulous into fashion, Gaultier's Haute Couture Collection for A/W 2011 was a glamorous affair in a salon near The Pompadou Centre Paris.

After thirty years, Gaultier's creations are still the embodiment of gender bending design, men in skirts, muscular bald women in ballgowns, clumpy Doc style footwear.
Over half the show comprised menswear, with coats, tails hats, sequins, crystals and leggings. Almost gothic, but more refined, some looks were reminiscent of Richard Burton in Taming of The Shrew.
Not to be confined to the usual fashion solutions, the show opened with a women's pinstriped suit, paired with tutu tulle.
This was a collection for the mavens who want luxury haute couture with rocked up street cred. Mylene Farmer, the most successful French recording artist of all time featured in the finale, in Gaultiers' bridal offering (tight leather jacket, net mini-crinoline and giant platforms).
