It's hard to imagine from the other side of the planet, blanketed in snow that we are basking over here in sunshine, sweating over ovens and listening to the cicadas, but in Australia our summer falls smack bang in the middle of summer. We have abundant seafood, salads, mango, stone fruits and cherries. Our afternoon idea of heaven is a trip down to the local beach or pool for a dip.
This year our family opted for a fallen branch and spray it white and silver, and covered it will decorations and a green feather boa. We will have roast pork and ham, along with freshly shucked oysters, and prawns (shrimp to the Americans).
Where we are located we can swim at a harbour beach, ocan beach or pool, all of which are delightful after eating one's own body weight in pork of some description.
